Printing quality photos inexpensively

Last weekend I took my children and my daughter's friend to the beach. The girls were walking in front of me and my son. Unbeknownst to them I snapped this adorable shot! Because of this image, I just placed an order to freshen up the photos in our Hamptons home.

Photos tell a story about the homeowner. Who they are, where they have traveled, who their circle of friends are, family vacations they've experienced and priceless captured moments.

People often ask me where I get photos printed. I upload my images from home and for a cost of $1.49 per 8 x 10 image I grab them on my next visit to Costco

Do you have a few quintessential photos that always stay framed, otherwise updating others? Do you have an inexpensive source for getting images printed?

  1. I was just thinking about relegating a few less than stellar shots to an album and reusing some frames. I do keep photos all upstairs because I think of it as a more private space.
    Super cute little girls!

  4. I don't go to Costco nearly as much as I used to but the few times I got pictures printed there, I was very happy with the quality and even happier with the price! I think now you can do this online? If so I should check into that pronto. LOVE that picture, so sweet and the essence of summer!

  5. Hi Lisa :) That cat is out of the bag now! Yes, Costco and Sam's are an excellent source for quick last minute prints and enlargements of family photos and snapshots to give to friends. In 10 years of using them, I have had 5 or less instances where the processing was waaay off! They do a great job for the price. Your picture is waaaay adorable and frame worthy for sure!! Are you enjoying your extended stays in the Hamptons?? We are headed to the beach this weekend and stay the whole next week. Have fun! XO, Kelly

  6. I bet that photo will stay in the frame forever! How precious. I definitely have favorites that stay put, and just a few that I update. Or I just get a new frame and add another!
    I love this post!

  7. What a darling photo of your daughter and friend. I love enlarging photos and Costco seems to be a good place to get them done. I love being able to upload them from home and not stand at the kiosk in the store.

  12. That shot is adorable!!!! I have been snapping away the past few days. I love your idea of having prints made at Costco!!! Honestly, I am so behind in having prints made as everything is on my laptop. But, I'm going to have some prints made of our recent trip. Love the boys in their cowboy hats.

SO excited to see you next week!

  14. This is such a sweet moment! Good job and I can see that you are working that new camera just fine! Costco is great for inexpensive printing, I prefer it over online sources for prints but use Apple for my photo books--they do a great job.

  18. I do have some photos that have been out for a long time: the group shot of us in Argentina in the Andes with the Acocagua peak in the background and one of Hegui and I when we first started dating sitting on a large cart of pumpkins in Upstate NY.

I've sort of stopped printing photos though. We take so many more with this blog thing that it is a bit out of hand already. I wonder about that though. Digital images sound so easy to lose to me.

  19. Although a Texan for many years; my childhood summers were spent in the Hamptons. That shot jerked me wayyyy back - oh, the glorious summers in Amagansett. There is NO beach better. Happy summer!
