Hampton Designer Showhouse

Saturday night I attended the opening cocktail party for Traditional Home's Hampton Designer Showhouse.
Tobi Fairley knocked the ball out of the park with her interpretation of a guest bedroom! Her use of color, her attention to detail, her fearlessness to push boundaries yet still create a classic, timeless, beautiful and functional space drew the attention of everyone who entered her room. I was impressed and captivated by Tobi's space.
If you follow my blog you know I'm a stickler for details, one of which is paying attention to ceilings. I love how Tobi drew the eye up the walls with her painted stripes.
Tobi looked stunning in her gorgeous yellow dress!
The dresser was another example of Tobi's attention to detail. Look at the Kelly green trim complimenting the Schumacher textile used on the headboard, the window treatments and the bergere.
Love the chic color of the dress and isn't the bow just fabulous?
The details on the dresser...don't you just love the mineral element infused into this space.
I spent a significant amount of time haning out with Tobi in her room. Every single person who walked into her room went absolutely ape over Swank Lighting's recycled glass lamps, including Tobi's friend Jamie Drake.
Since I mentioned Jamie Drake let me just say that he has a personality larger than life and is such a nice, likeable man! He is also funny and why you see me laughing in this photo.
I'm a huge fan of using desks as bedside tables. In my daughter's room you'll eventually see where I paired a custom desk with a lucite bamboo chair. However, Tobi did something with this desk that I loved. She wallpapered the top of the desk and then had a custom piece of thick lucite made to go over the wallcovering...genuis! Such a striking element that fetched many compliments too!
To really appreciate Marjorie Skouras Design's chandelier you need to see it in person. Absolutely gorgeous! The jade stones with the gold was magical!
Tobi, congratulations on all of the local press and rave reviews you are getting in the Hamptons! You deserve it all! You are an asset to our industry and I'm proud to call you a friend.
I highly recommend this year's Hampton Designer Showhouse located at 1224 Scuttle Hole Road. You can visit Monday through Sunday from 11am to 5pm July 24th through September 4th. Do you love going to showhouses? Will you be making a visit to see this one?

Tobi never disappoints. She is one talented lady and very sweet from what I've heard bloggers say. I love people who can be successful but don't let it go to their heads. The room is gorgeous. Toile never gets old to me & I love the chandelier. Her dress is gorgeous, she looks so pretty in yellow. I adore bows. Ladylike and classic. xo

Very bright but pulled together nicely. Your dress is way too short, sorry just being honest. Doesnt matter if you have the legs to pull it off or not. Looks more like a shirt. Normally I think you have nice style but this is not a favorite look of mine.

First, I have been dying to see images start trickling out from this showhouse. Her room is spectacular. I've got a ton of the Nanjing fabric in my stash and this makes me want to use it asap. Everytime I see a photo of Tobi I want to know where she shops....she always looks great! Great photo of you both!

Erin, enjoy your visit. I'm certain you'll be impressed. It is a good showhouse. E-mail me would love to hear your thoughts!

Heavenly Housewife, yes I run darling!

Anonymous, I don't mind differences of opinion. I'm not offended, at all. The cocktail party was by the pool, the dress was very loose, covered the entire upper body and I wasn't a featured showhouse designer so showing a little (or perhaps a lot!) of leg was a boundary I was willing to push for a summertime, pool soiree.

Tiptoe Butterfly, the dress is Roberta Freymann. I bought it at her East Hampton shop. I don't believe their on-line site offers the shirt dress.

The Enchanted Home, let me know when you are going. Perhaps, we can meet?

Tilton Fenwick, you gals have the stand out room on the lower level! It is amazing. Yes, that ceiling fixture is like jewelry for a room!

How amazing! The stripes on the ceiling are my favorite. I think that's an amazing idea to draw your eye up. She did a great job! We have a Parade of Homes near us, every year that I never miss! I always love to see how the designer's use their creativity and think outside the box.

As usual, Tobi has knocked it out of the park. I absolutely love that she is so fearless with color! And this color combo is totally unexpected, but gorgeous.

When you hear the name Tobi Fairley you know it's going to be good. Wish I lived in the Hamptons so I could visit this house but thanks for sharing Tobi's room.

The room is quite something. The striped cieling makes me think of a tent--maybe one of those old kind that you'd see on the beach in fancy 19th Century period movies involving British people. Way cool.

Heart the room & your frock! You are a good sport.....

Adore this room from Tobi Fairley! What an inspiration--- LOVE LOVE LOVE the coral and kelly green together, so Hollywood Regency, yet so different from what you usually see!
