Where you a Girl Scout (Boy Scout?) I was too! In the spring as we started to prepare for kindergarten (interview and paperwork) my daughter started to hear the buzz about becoming a Girl Scout Daisy. The Daisy experience (kindergarten & first grade) is the first phase of being a Girl Scout. Once my daughter expressed an interest in wanting to join the organization, I set out to explore and complete the steps needed to become a Daisy troop leader.
(My sashes from when I was a Girl Scout.)
This week will be our first troop meeting! I will have twelve kindergarten girls under my wing every other week as we explore the Girl Scout journey together. I have an AMAZING year lined up for the Daisies! I am happy to be giving back to my community by being a part of an 100 year old organization that fosters self respect and respect of others.
What's on your agenda for the weekend? Happy Friday!

What a great time you're gonna have with those little Daisies!!!
Lisa, those little daisies will be flourishing under your guidance. Lucky little ducks!!!
As far our weekend, we'll be heading out to get some pumpkins, I'll be hosting a dozen plus little boys for Ty's postponed birthday party - Knight and Dragons are the theme, and we'll be continuing with our family game of Risk. It's getting competitive at my house!!!
Have a fabulous weekend!

I love this! I was in Camp Fire Girls when I was young and my mom was my leader. Such a great experience and so much fun! Happy weekend to you.
Fun! I always wanted to be a girl scout growing up! Happy Friday!
Very very cute. Have a fab weekend!
This is so sweet, my sister was a Brownie, thats about the closest I got to being a Girl Scout:) Sounds like fun and its a wonderful organization that has kept both my niece and nephew busy, fulfilled and focused on meaningful projects right up through high school!
Headed to the city to visit people in from out of town, going to Figs and Olives for lunch (have you been) then to a friends new apt. for a little get together and dinner at Daniel to celebrate a birthday. A full day but its all good.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!
oh fun! I was a bluebird and campfire girl. I don't really hear about these organizations much in Seattle.
Love the shot of you and Sue with Nate Berkus. Were you on his show?
Have a great weekend.
Lisa, you would be the BEST leader....you have some lucky little girls. I was a brownie and a girls scout but I think I gave up on Girl Scouts after a bit. We have been packing all weekend in anticipation of the movers arriving later this week. I cannot believe we just did this less than a year ago and now I am doing this of my own doing. Oh well...another pass at decluttering which is always good. (PS--What did you decide on High Point?)
How fun! Yes I remember doing this...a very long time ago. I am sure I will be revisiting this again with Ariyana!
I was a Brownie and the a Girl Scout - I think Daisies have replaced Brownies. I was my son's cub scout den leader for years - I think I would have preferred leading the girls!!
Go you! THat's going to be awesome!!! So, does this mean that you will have special Girl Scout Cookie powers? I was never a Girl Scout, but I think i could wear that fun sash if it got me in to the secret cookie chamber :D. I'd be "Housewife Incognito", kind of like the housewife version of James Bond LOL
*kisses*
What a great thing to do. I desperately wanted to be a 'Brownie' (a junior Girl Guide) but there were booked up so I missed out...never quite got over it which is probably why I am such an over zealous camper!!!

You're a troop leader now!?! Congratulations. Is it a lot of fun or what?
Thanks for all of your comments!
Enchanted Home, I've been to Fig & Olive and love it as a lunch spot!
Splendid Market, I was on the Nate Berkus show. The image of the crib under my photo at the top of the page will give you details.
Maddies Nest, I'm going to e-mail you about High Point.
Stevie, I had my first meeting and truly enjoyed every single second. The Daisies are adorable and say the funniest things!
