Tickle the ivories in style

When it comes to designing a space in a home that includes a piano, I like to replace the standard issue piano bench with one that is aesthetically appealing.
Using a Kravet outdoor textile I called upon Sedersi, Inc. to create this Greek key bench for a client's living room. The detail of the double self welt for the trim, the subtle touch of yellow it adds to the room and the high gloss black bench to match the baby grand makes for a striking piece of furniture.
There is something special about a home with a musical instrument being played. Do you play an instrument? Here's to a wonderful week!

Sadly the two that are played at our house is drums and a tuba... so we keep the musicians in the converted garage!

Such a beautiful fabric. I took many years of piano (6, I think) and can hardly play a thing now. Love to hear someone talented play!!

Clever and comfy!!! Ty had is drum lesson today (he's got good beats) and tomorrow Carter has guitar. They took piano but didn't really last. I keep hoping they'll come back to it!!

It never occurred to me to replace our piano bench but I think it would really freshen up the look. Our piano is fairly plain and I'm thinking a smaller bench covered in a fun pattern would make a nice impact. Thanks for sharing this tip!

I don't play an instrument but I enjoy oil painting. I wanted to learn flute as a child but was to shy to ask my parents. I am sure now that they would have agreed. Too late, I guess.

The bench is lovely. I've an old friend in Dallas with a baby grand piano. It is so enjoyable to hear him play it. Do you play?
