When we moved into our home this is what our kitchen looked like...it had a mirrored backsplash (all I can say is...no thank you...totally not my style!) This image was taken while unpacking. Our kitchen is a decent size (24'L x 10'6"W) and is flooded with natural sunlight (6 skylights and six windows)...so why the mirrors I wondered?

The white and gray marble backsplash, along with Benjamin Moore's Bunny Gray (my favorite shade of gray) helped me to achieve the crispness I desired. See how this small adjustment transformed the kitchen? If Viking's St. Charles steel cabinetry peaks your interest, check out their website http://www.stcharlescabinets.com/.
Will you be tweaking any spaces in your home in the new year?

What a gorgeous kitchen you have! And all of that natural light is wonderful - wow!
Love the new backsplash.. you are so right, why the mirrored backsplash? Love the change! (and how lucky you are to have that kind of natural light in your space!)

Lisa,
It looks so much better and definately more stylish and current! I like mirror in a dark space or small space, but clearly this light filled kitchen did not require it and you knew it...designers instinct:) and the new tile is fab!

Oh so much better! And I do love St. Charles - one of my best friends has an apartment in a legendary pre-war building in the city. Her kitchen has the original stainless St. Charles cabinets that go to the ceiling - FABULOUS!
Huge improvement! It's amazing how a few small changes can create such a big impact.
Gorgeous! Love, love, love the paint and the marble backsplash. It's amazing how such small changes can make such a huge impact!
What a huge difference that made. I kept going back and forth thinking that you changed much more - I didn't notice the cabinets, the hardware, etc. in the first image with the mirrors... it was soooo busy. Great job - your choice of backsplash was perfect. LOVE the kitchen now.
Fabulous kitchen and yes the mirrors needed to go!
What a difference! Love the kitchen! xx
Your kitchen is gorgeous, all that light and LOVE the stove...I could get inspired to cook on that piece!

Thanks for your comments! Isn't it amazing what a little change can do? Both photos were taking during the day. The top photo with lights on is horrible due to the mirrors, but the bottom photo I don't have a single light on and look how bright it is with just natural sunlight. The marble backsplash compliments the space vs distracts from the room.
Would so love to do what you did to my kitchen this year - we're still trying to figure out how to make it bigger! What taste and style you have (as always)!
xxoo
Wow Lisa, it really does look so much better. Love what you did!! I read your comment today on my organization post and I am right there with you. If the house is a mess I am a mess too. My main area is my kitchen counter, it has to be empty!! I am funny that way and luckily my family puts up with me, lol!!

Lisa, you have an incredible eye! Love Viking - that's what I put in my kitchen when we redid it 2 years ago. And, how appropriate that Bunny Gray is your favorite color!
Love how open and light your kitchen is!!!
xoxo
Mirror, mirror on the wall; if you are a backsplash...you must fall. In with the Bunny, hello to the Gray, my kitchen is now fabulous and brightens my day!! :D AWESOME! You should see the punch my kitchen is packing. I have been holding tight trying to figure out the best way to add bang for my buck!
Such great changes.. so clean and crisp! xo
Oh my goodness what a beautiful Kitchen. You have such talent!
I love it-very sleek. We just sold our home and we should be finish building our new home early March. I've been buried knee deep in the "tweaking process" so to speak:-). I will be sharing more on my blog in the coming days. Thanks for stopping by also. XX
