A peak into a client's foyer

This is a sneak peak at only a small portion of a client's foyer. When designing a space, I always first consider how the room will be used. Their foyer is not entered into from the front door on a daily basis, as they have a mudroom off of the garage that serves as the family's main entrance. Since the mudroom sees the daily use, we were able to push boundaries in this space and do wool carpeting to help with sound quality and to offer comfort under shoe-less feet.
Carpeting: Patterson, Flynn & Martin (to the trade)
The hardwood flooring has a wood inlay with banding...it is exquisite! We wanted to enhance the banding so we did the custom size carpeting on the inside of the inlay and ran it up the staircase...it is quite striking!
Wallcovering: Lee Jofa (to the trade)
Urn: Elegant Earth (to the trade)

I highly recommend asparagus ferns...they grow like weeds with indirect light exposure, look beautiful and are easy to keep alive.

Bench: Lillian August
Pillows: Legacy Linens (to the trade)
Frames: Custom
We framed some maps from the homeowner's travels...from where they met in Greece (how exciting, right?) to some of their favorite destinations. The antique bench's imperfections are what make it perfect in such a polished space.
Frames: Bella Fiore (to the trade)
Gold tray: Bungalow 5 (to the trade)
I will show the entire space in the future, as I'm having professional photos taken soon. Wanted to show you a touch of my work, outside of my own home. Have a great weekend!

Lisa, this is stunning, pure understated elegance at its best. That is my favorite look. Professional photos ar the best. Terri from La Dolfina came to my home on Wed. and she was stunned at how different my home looks in person, because I can't take a decent picture to save me her reaction to my home was proof enough for me that I am reallllly bad at taking pictures. She kept saying she had an idea of what my home looked like from my pictures but she was all wrong. You are so smart to get a professional for your portfolio!!! Your work is magazine worthy!! KS

As I would expect... clean classic with a twist. I was going to say perfection, but I don't want to put too much pressure on you!

Beautiful. Maybe I could keep an asparagus fern alive. I seem to kill everything. xo

The asparagus fern in the beautiful urn is a wonderful touch as more seating was not needed. I love that it is fresh and tailored without being too sparse.

Very elegant. I love the look that fern in the jardinere. I'd like to have some pretty plants in the house, but Mr P is allergic to lots of plants/flowers.

Your work is fantstic! Love the bench and framed mats...and the console table with lamps is just the look I need for my entry/foyer, which is similar, if a bit smaller.

Still need to get you over! :)
