Wild Horses

Last night I attended a reception for notable photographer, Roberto Dutesco, at the fairly new Samuel Owen Gallery in Greenwich, CT.
Roberto Dutesco spent time on isolated Sable Island off the coast of Novia Scotia, Canada photographing feral horses. This particular image was my favorite!

Not only has Roberto photographed these gorgeous creatures, he has been behind the lense shooting images of Linda Evangelista, Christie Turlington and Naomi Campbell, hence the name of this piece.

Equestrian or not, one of these images would be quite stunning in a home. Lee and Cindy Milazzo are the married duo who run and own this upscale gallery. Next time you are in Greenwich stop by the gallery!

My take on artwork is raw, very organic...does the artwork speak to me, does it engage me in thought and do I like the piece regardless of its intrinsic (or lack thereof) value or worth? What is it that you look for when shopping for artwork?

Beautiful pieces! For me art should make me "feel" something. It needs to provoke an emotion. These photos are definitely emotive.

"Raw" and "organic" are definitely the right words! What stunning pieces. I am always partial to photographs in general, but these are particularly Lovely. I really would like to get a huge photograph of a horse for our dining room. Definitely in black and white. Adds that extra touch of drama :)

Hope you have a wonderful day, Love.

Wow! I love these images. I agree, I need to find some kind of connection with the art. If I buy it, it has to speak to me. So true. xo

It has to speak to me. It has to draw me in so that I cannot go without it. Sometimes that process is gradual, sometimes it is instantaneous.

Either way, it matters little what others think of it. If I like it, love it, then I'll buy it (if I can afford it)!

Lisa, you look gorgeous as always my dear!! Just stunning. When I look at art it has to draw me in, and it usually is almost unexplainable to why. It just does and I will stand and stare at a piece. When I was in North Carolina last summer we took a little boat cruise to the outerbanks and saw the wild horse, what amazing animals!! These pieces remind me of what I saw there. Happy weekend, Hope you are enjoying your summer so far, Kathysue

I love, love horses. They are so majestic. Even as I was riding last week, I just felt in awe of being on a horse.

This photography definitely speaks to me!!!

Those images are sensational; I would love to hang black and white horse art all over my house. I can only imagine they are more fabulous in person!

I agree with you and HH,art needs to elicit something in me emotionally. Your feral horses are gorgeous and if I didn't happen to be violently alleergic, I'd want an image like them for myself.
